Hi. So instead of being with my family in the other room I'm here by myself. (probably thanx to avpd.) Atleast I think it's avpd. After looking up depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder etc..and taking "those" tests, I realized avpd fits me most. I want to get better but I don't know what the next step is exactly. Should I look for a psychiatrist , psychotherapist, mental health institution?
Ps. If there was a similar topic already posted, I'm sorry but I can only use my phone to browse so it's hard to look thru all of them.

You might start with a psychotherapist or counselor. Then they could give you pointers on what the next step would be, if they agreed with your assessment.

Yeah, a psychotherapist.

The sooner you can go, the better.

Say welcome and I liked your nickname. It's the name of my favorite song by Nirvana.

Hello manwhosoldtheworld
I would say therapy would be a good first step. To see where you stand and get some perspective.
Welcome

Music always was and is a great refuge for me.
I also used to spend a lot of time on my own, in my room.
Are you doing some kind of studies?

Not right now, but I want to go to college. The main reason I haven't gone is because I have trouble dealing with people.

I understand you, but I encourage you to do it, to go to study. I'm sure therapy is going to help you to accomplish this task.
You will find difficulties and you will feel anxiety in many ocassions but I would bet that with the therapist's help is going to be easier.

I first went to therapy in my first year of work. I found myself isolated in some moments and with many anxiety but he helped me to be moré confident and open up people.
