So I'm pretty miserable these days, having been fired from my job last month. I've tried the experiment of quitting smoking and it turns out that I have too much on my mind to be bothered by the nicotine withdrawal.

Like the guy in the book and the movie, I'm just looking for silver linings. I am beating a powerful addiction and it's been easier than I thought it would be!

Hello jtesta33: Congratulations on beating a powerful addiction! Losing your job is a tough way to accomplish it. But, at least something good is coming out of the situation. No longer smoking will save you some money as well as benefitting your health. Good luck finding new employment!
