I was taking 2.5 mg for weeks and my pdoc gave me 10, 2 mg pills to take half of them for 20 days and then stop. Should I take the last 5, 1 mg every other day?

For me 2.5mg was a low enough dose I just went off after that....but if you’re worried about it I would call the doctor or pharmacist as your individual case may be different.

Not off the 2.5 but from 7.5 to five I was super irritable.....I don’t think the doses lower than five have much effect on me ....my taper was super long though like 6 months on each dose and we had to go back up once. It was a nightmare to get off and then after nine months I had to go back on. If you have withdrawal you can always temporarily reincrease to the last dose and it gets rid of it. That’s why it’s useful you’re doing this with a doc. Are you having withdrawals?

I don't think it would hurt. The slower the taper the better. Good luck to you with this.

I am titrating off Abilify. Effecting my kidneys. Had to go to a nephrologist. Bad thing is, Abilify stopped my migraines. I was on 10mg. Now on 5mg. My pdoc wants me to stay at that level until the first of the year. Will see what comes of it all.

I recently came off it too. But I went straight onto Olanzapine, so I don't know whether that counts? Also I'm on super low dose - A was only 5 mg and the O is now 2.5. I don't have BP though, instead I have BPD with heavy duty anxiety and sometimes paranoia.

I went down from 5 every day to every other day, for 2 weeks, and then on to the O. I felt/feel more emotional, less numb. I also have weird hay fever type symptoms on a few days! The main effect was I lost my restless legs, and am so happy!
Thanks for this!

Update;
I am off Abilify for 19 days and still, I am not my normal self. I have low-grade panic attacks and anxiety, I am sweating at times and have occasional diarrhea.
They say Abilify stays in one's system for 34 days.

I tapered off Abilify at the beginning of autumn, but switched over to Zyprexa. Abilify just wasn't a helpful med for me. I didn't have any withdrawal issues but I might have had if not for the Zyprexa.

Are you going to be on a different AP?
