I take geodon right now and want to switch to vraylar.
I have heard good things about it but wanted to ask your opinions first.
I am experiencing hypomania big time. walking a fine line to mania. not good.
what do you think?
I read somewhere that it is difficult to get off the geodon.

I took vraylar for a couple months but switched over to abilify and Thorazine since my insurance wouldn’t cover it. The only problem I had with it was horrible Akathisia , it was like torture at night. But that could have also been due to the seroquel I was also on or the combination of them.

I am going to ask about Vraylar. I take Geodon too but since recently increasing it from 60 to 80 I am experiencing confusion and memory loss as well as hair loss. It's got to be the Geodon increase causing this b/c it's the only thing that's changed. Have you had any of these side effects from Geodon?

Hey Bizi, In take vraylar and I like it. I started this whole mess with latuda but had problems with sitting still and high anxiety. This vraylar med has been working well for me. One can still have their episodes but spaced apart more which is good. These seems to be the best terms we can get for now with all meds.

I'm on Vraylar and I love it. It pulled me out of a severe mixed episode and allowed me to return to work

my psych recommended it. i was...suspicious. she says its good for mania and agitation, more so than the Abilify I currently take, anyway. these positive reviews...have me thinking... :-)

How long have you been taking it? Any side-effects, weight gain? I just started and would love any insider tips.

yes I did try it in the hospital against my research of that it could cause mania well I was psychotic at the time. it made me worse after one dose.
I also tried luvox and I had the same reaction. I never tapered off of geodon, just wonder if that was a far trial. But I would refuse to re try it.
now I am on haldol IM injections once a month and small dose of it at night.
Lamictal, as my mood stabilizer. cogentin, klonipin, tophrnil 25mg, to sleep remeron, and sometimes zyprexa sublingual.

I wonder about the long term side effects from haldol?
