Bubble package pills

I just found out my meds can be in bubble packs free of charge. This I feel will make it so much easier for me. Especially around family. I also have them doing it for my husband's medication. That way it's much easier when I'm gone on vacation. Does anyone else do bubble packs? It just sounds so much easier.

Almost all of my medications (and my husband's) filled in Czech Republic pharmacies are in bubble packs. I'll admit that I am not thrilled about the fact. I suppose if I only took two or three medications, it might be OK. However, I take NINE different ones (not all psych meds). My husband takes six or seven. I must use weekly pill boxes, as does my husband. Since I am the one filling the blasted things, it gets tiring pushing all of the monsters out of the bubble packs. In some cases, I retained the old pill bottles from US filled versions, and just sit there pushing out 30 to over 60 pills of EACH in one shot so I don't have to be pushing them all out every week, let alone every day. And each med doesn't necessarily mean one each of each of the pills. I take more than one pill for certain meds, every day. So does my husband. And a couple even need to be cut with a pill cutter.

I don't know. I see it as a real pain. With pill bottles, it's easier. But I shouldn't complain. Pharmaceuticals here in Czech Republic are much much cheaper than in the US.

Bubble packs are keurig cups for pills - so wasteful!

Many people have suggested bubble packs to me. I'm concerned that I would have a hard time getting the pills out. But a lot of people really like bubble packs.

A bubble pack means for me I’d lose a pill or two every month. I lose at least one or two of all my meds. We joke that when we rip out the counters I’ll have a pharmacy

I always get bubble packs, too, they don't have pill bottles at my pharmacy. I can confirm that they're a pain when refilling my weekly pill box, and that I would prefer bottles. My lamotrigine pills have this really nasty artificially sweet taste to them so if I take them out of the bubble pack and put them in my pill box, then they stink up all of my other pills as well (not to mention the smell lingers in the box, too). Most bubble packs have these perforated lines where you can tear off individual pills, but the lamotrigine packs don't even have that, so I have to take out the scissors and cut up the bubble pack into sections that can fit into my pill box. I just want my meds, I'm not looking for an arts and crafts project!

I was under the impression that I would get one for morning pills and one for night pills not individual blister packs. I hope it not individual blister packs because that eill make it so difficult for me. same for my husband. I guess we try it this month than switch back if i dont like it. I pick up all my meds at the same so hopefully its only 2 blister packs each not 10+. I thought it would be easier because im on a bunch of meds. For my husband i was hoping he could eaily tske them. If it's more difficult he may not take them.I hope I didn't screw up.

Maybe that's what you'll get. If that's what you're thinking, then it would be different than what some here were referring to. I know that in the US, some pharmacies (often online ones) can sort meds for you and put all morning meds in a day pack. Ditto for any afternoon and evening. That can be ideal for some people whose meds rarely, if ever, change. The downside I'd see to that is that all meds would need to be filled simultaneously and any changes to doses (or add-ons/eliminations) might be a little hassle.

This is why my pharmacy gives me two weeks' worth of pills at a time in my bubble packs- just in case a change needs to be made. I find the bubble packs useful because I can definitely see if I've missed a dose and its really hard to take pills twice unless you have something in a bottle and not in the blister packs. They are easy to open, too- just pull a paper tab on top and that opens each individual bubble. Only thing is, you can't close it again in case you for some reason want to only take some of the pills in that particular blister.

Anyway, I find them useful. I don't think you made a mistake MM! You will get used to that soon enough.
