I've definitely had at least one paranoid episode back when I was in college. I spent many hours each day watching out the window for my boyfriend's ex so that I could look at her and tell if she had been with him. I was also looking for him to be walking around with her. It made no sense because they had broken up two years before and he had graduated and lived two hours away.
Lately, I have had these underlying thoughts kind of like back ground noise that my neignbors might be judging me through the windows. If they look in and see that I am still sitting on my couch in my PJs or if I have gone upstairs and left my toddler in his exersaucer, that they would judge me for it. I also get very nervous if I hear a car door slam because I am afraid the person will be coming to ring my doorbell and if I answer they will see my house is a mess and will call DSS on me. I am starting to worry when I go for walks that people are looking at me through their windows or from their cars. It is starting to really bother me. I brought it up to my therapist but we were at the end of the session so we will have to explore it next week. ![]() |

Paranoia is felt by many, including me...you could try asking yourself if YOU aren't looking through your neighbor's windows and judging THEM, they probably aren't you..if this is interfering with living your life then it is a problem, otherwise, it can be a common feeling, as long as it is not too intense

You seem to be very anxious and worried.
![]() I hope these insecure feelings will be gone away very soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() You mentioned that your neighbors might be judging you through the windows. I think normally, people don't look in and see what you are doing. Even if people are looking at you through their windows or from their cars, they won't harm you unless they are out of mind. Please don't be afraid that other people would judge you. Even if they try to do something upsetting you, you should reject that and be assertive about your situation. Good Luck! ![]() |

Well... people with BP tend to be a bit special
![]() In my case, I overreact to pretty much everything, good and bad, and I guess I sometimes feel paranoid too. It might be the way you are, and it certainly doesn't mean that it's a problem or a disorder. When you realize that you are focusing on the neighbors that might be watching you, use your little voice inside you and tell yourself firmly to stop that. I got this from my psychologist, and it works. |
