Had more scary thoughts and to keep me safe, my Therapist wants me to go to the ER. I am not sure when I will be back, but I am very afraid. I have never been to the hospital for anything other than to rest after labor and I had my husband and my baby with me the whole time.
Thanks for this!

Hi,
sorry you're not feeling good. I hope that they will help you there and try not to be afraid and takesome deep slow breathes. Have you had your hormones tested and could this be Post Partum Psychosis(which is a deeper than post partum depression)?? I hope everything works out for you and I'll be praying for you.

Sucks. I hope you feel better soon. I hated going to the ER, but I guess it did save my life in the long run. I don't ever want to have to go back, but when you're super down and all you can think about is death, or you're super up and think you're invincible/are highly impulsive you do need to listen to the professionals. It's only temporary.

I went to the ER once, someone dragged me there. It wasn't any professional reccomendation and I had no diagnosis, so they made me sit around awhile, did a really long and boring psych eval. gave me some ativan and an appointment with a psychiatrist...I suppose I forgot to mention that they wanted to have me stay awhile, but there is no way in hell that I'm staying in any psychward unless I'm so ******* crazy that the law gets me, but that probably won't happen since even at my worst, I know what to share and what not to share legally.

But, considering you're listening to your therapist, perhaps you're going to get yourself into the psych ward...guess it's okay if you're suicidal or think they'll help you stablize with your meds...It seems unpleasant though...if you want to get out and they decide that if you try, they'll simply section you, then perhaps don't try, become excruciatingly complacent and obedient and depending on your age, gender and life situation, claiming everything was a mistake and using proper logical reasoning with the doctors will help...(advice from my husband and friends who happened to get themselves locked up.)

I'm sorry about the scary thoughts. In your other post it looks like the time will be used to help find good meds and stabilize you. I hope it happens quickly!

It seems like you're back. What happened when you went to the ER, if you want to talk about it? If not, no worries. Just so long as you're feeling better.

I just got home from a week on the ward. They changed my meds and wanted to observe me to make sure the thought went away, which they have. I am home for two days and will go to a pertial hospitalization program which means lots of groups and sleeping at home.

I am grateful for my time there and I really did learn alot. I can post more about it as I wrap my head around it. Thanks for the well wishes.

Sorry, I came to this thred so late.

I just wanted to say Congrats to taking care of yourself by going to the psych ward and now being in an outpatient program! That takes a lot of courage.
