It's good that you're looking for help. Most people want to deny that there's any problem before and even after getting diagnosed. I didn't want this diagnosis. Who does? Since it seems that you do have insurance from your other thread, I'd go see the psychiatrist your mom wants you to see...the sooner the better and tell him or her of your mental concerns, emotional states, feeling out of control (or whatever it is that you're going through, just a guess). You can also tell the psychiatrist that you'd really like to go to an inpatient treatment program at least temporarily so you can make sure you have your meds sorted out and someone on hand 24-7 while you are adjusting to treatment.
They will listen to you, but you have to give them as much info as possible, even if you think it will make you "sound crazy." The more they know, the better they can choose a course to help you. ![]() Seeing the doctor first doesn't preclude your going to the treatment facility. In fact he/she may recommend it to your parents so that they'll consider it more seriously since it's coming from a professional. Take care and let us know how things go.

How is it that you don't feel safe right now? If you are in danger of hurting yourself you can always call her or 911 for immediate help, or are you scared of how you are feeling?
