To all my bipolar friends.

Hope you're all okay in spite of the moods, the meds, the drs appts, etc.

I wish someday we could have a summit, food, fun, socializing. I've gotten closer to you all than I am to all the in person friends I've ever had at this point in my life. I don't think there's anything wrong with online friendships replacing in person ones. Especially because it's hard to find people going through the same things in a safe environment unless you have access to the Internet. If in this country we make up only 2.6%, in a town of 50,000 that's only 1,300 people (I live in a town of 25,000 so it's only half that much). What are the chances you'll encounter another one of us and even if you do that either of you will admit it in such a short time of interaction like waiting for food or standing in the checkout or even having a college class together? I think I did meet another one in a statistics class I took a couple years ago. We were drawn to each other and sat together. She told me she was in AA and I admitted to drinking too much and she talked about some bizarre experiences that caused her to seek help. However, she never used the word bipolar and I didn't know that I was back then. I just knew I was depressed.

So keep on keepin' on and we'll see this **** through together.
