to those of you who would rather be beaten than take them. Straight from the PI sheet of my Geodon:
This medication is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (schizophrenia or manic/mixed episodes in bipolar disorder). It may be used after other medications have not been effective. Geodon is a psychiatric medication (anti-psychotic type) that works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (nuerotransmmitters) in the brain. This medication can make you feel less nervous and improve your concentration. It helps you to think more clearly and take a more active part in every day life.

Hope that helps. You don't have to be psychotic to be on an antipsychotic.

Amongst the drugs I reviewed to augment or replace Lamictal (which isn't helping yet that I can tell, or if anything making me rapid cycle) was either Geodon or Abilify. I hope my new p-doc knows WTF they're doing. Only have to wait 13 more days. Sinking my nails into the chair arms.
