Hi everyone. I went IP for 9 days as a last resort to get my meds straightened out.

I feel so much better. They added an anti depressant to the mix and some Seroquel to help me sleep.

When I was going home yesterday, one of the staff commented on my turn-around and said that I should apply for a job on the ward.

I am not so sure about that, but I appreciated the comment and I will miss some of the amazing staff who helped me out with humor when I needed it most.

It was a crummy place, but the people working there have such big hearts that I will truly miss some of them. (At the same time, I hope I never see them again, at least in that context.)

Anyway, I want to thank everyone who sent their wishes! I am back and feeling very good.

I can't remember the last time I spent a whole week feeling stable and not questioning every little fluctuation or emotion.

I am truly in a good place right now. I hope that I can offer support to anyone here who needs it right now by saying, advocate for yourself. Advocate hard. Don't give up and if you have to go to the last resort, it is your hospital, not the big S. It is worth fixing and sometimes you need a "tweak" or tune up.

Thanks for this!

I'm so happy you're doing better and are home.

I was gone most of the day, so this is the first time I saw this, but I'm doing cartwheels for you in my heart.

Thanks for letting us know. And the implication that if we get to feeling bad that there is hope to get stable in the hospital.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

Thanks! How are you doing now? Better? We were going through similar things at the time if memory serves.

I BNLs,

I'm still manic. None of these drugs work. I can't stay asleep, I'm hyper all day, and I think I'm getting sick from lack of sleep and more vulnerability to disease. Sorry I didn't respond yesterday. I'm so swamped with my parents being in town. Going everywhere with them and seldom at my computer. In fact, I just took my walk, need to take a shower and get over to meet them for breakfast.

I guess you could say I'm okay, but my parents are looking at me all strange and they suspect my meds are changing me instead of me having always been different and the disease advancing due to years of lack of treatment. Feels like I can't win whether I take care of myself or not. They'll be gone tomorrow afternoon. Then I can get back to chatting w/everyone.

Miss you guys.

Wow. It sounds like you have a lot going on. I hope you find some relief from your mood swings soon. Have you told your p-doc that you are manic? Maybe a med adjustment? Just some thoughts...

Yeah, doc knows I'm manic. Prescribed Abilify 10 days ago. Titrating up to 10mg, but only on 5 right now. I see her on the 15th again. I guess I'll keep with the program until things become unbearable. Parents are actually gone Friday afternoon. So, still a couple of more events with them.

Had a good therapy session today even though I was fatigued, I was less jumpy and thoughts less racing. But my speech was still a bit garbled and slurred. Brain getting a molasses feeling.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm just glad you're doin' alright. That was some ordeal you were going through. I hope you have a nice long stretch of peace and stability.
