Has anyone read the book by Daniel Steel about her son? If so, was anyone pissed off about the fact that she praised herself and that Julie woman for all the work and struggling they had to do for Nick. I was furious the whole time reading it, and almost didn't finish it. Thank God that those two lived through Nicky's bipolar, thank GOD that DS was able to still become famous through everything!!! If you haven't read the book, don't waste your damn money on it! Unless you want to get mad as hell!
Thanks for this!

That's good to know. But I did think it was supposed to be semi autobiographical. Which then would be on how she coped and survived. A chance to see what we do to other people can't hurt. Maybe we can learn from it all.

I thought it was an awesome book. I read in my junior yr in high school after a friend suggested it. His Bright Light is an amazing insight.

It sounds like I might have a hard time with it. I always grew up hearing my mom pat herselfon the back about how she rose to the "Challenge" and succeeded raise poor little dingy me! Not a word about what a challenge it was having her for a mother sometimes. Point taken about the fact that it is from DS perspective, but I guess if you been sensitised to certain things, it might make some types of responses sto having a bipolar kid hard to take.
