I'm a pretty defensive person and I think a lot is due to the disorder. I have trouble focusing on what is around me. When I listen to music I can't focus enough to pay attention for very long; my mind zones out/drifts and I can't even make it through an entire song. I can listen to a few songs in a row and suddenly snap out of it and realized I missed them. Does this happen to anyone else? any tips?
the same is true when having conversations or hearing what people are saying around me.

All the time and for my whole life. I take Addreal for AADD but I can't tell you that it really helps me when I am down. For that matter it hasn't help me when I am not down.

this happens to me a lot. It's kinda scary when I'm driving and I have one of those moments and I wonder how I don't get into wrecks.

Yep. Thankfully I have a DVR on my TV and I can back up the 5-10 minutes I missed by spacing out. I just wish I had a DVR for everything else. People that talk for more than a minute or two often become a buzzing sound to me. My wife says (quite often) 'you are not paying attention to what I am saying'. Yep, you are right!
