Hi everyone,

My name is Liz and I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 and major depressive disorder when I was 18. This is a very hard time in my life, as Bipolar is at it's worst in the late teens and early twenties. I'm looking for people that I can relate to. I have never met anyone else with Bipolar disorder, and I guess I want to find out if any of you are suffering from the same issues I am. Thanks.
:mexican: (I found this funny, so I thought I would throw it in here)

Hehe... a smiley in a sombrero - awesome.

Hi Liz, I've only been here a short time as I was recently diagnosed. There seems to be a lot of information available here, as well as people who are very supportive.

Hi Solemn... Welcome!!!! Glad you found Psych Central. I have been here for a while, but only recently started using it to its fullest this year. People here are wonderful. The weekly chats are helpful usually to talk to people who have the disorder... check the 'chats' tab for the schedule. mlpHolmes hosts a wonderful Bipolar and Depression Group. Also.. if you're interested in networking with people in person, check out the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) or National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI). They typically have information on support groups that may be near where you live or go to school. Also make sure you check out the articles in the bipolar section... a lot of them have great information. I hope you find what you're looking for here and again... Welcome!!!!
