Does anyone else have this? I get so worked up over Christmas and then about 23 mins after presents are opened, I'm ready to take down the tree and put everything away. Then I find that I'm ultra irritable for a good while after Christmas.
Thanks for this!

Yeah... I get this... not so much with Christmas but with any major life event. Related to holidays, what it usually has to do with is all the energy and stress that surround the holidays and then suddenly everything is over and done and you just have a complete shift in momentum. The days and weeks leading up to Christmas you're thinking about buying the gift or doing this or giving money here or cooking or cleaning or decorating... seems endless. Then suddenly the holiday is over and all of those stressors are all gone, all at once. Not to mention the total change in routine a major holiday causes. It's totally common for this to happen. For me the last time it happened was after my brother's wedding last summer. I was the Maid of Honor and there was so much planning and stress and when the wedding was over and I flew home I just had a really hard time with the transition back to work. I ended up with a total melt-down and was in the hospital for 2 weeks! Ugh... Hopefully you're not feeling at that level, but yes, it is totally normal to fel a change in mood following the holiday until you're back into a regular routine again. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Thanks for this!

gravyy, you describe it so accurately! I do end up having big melt downs, but I am hoping it won't get to the hospitalization phase. Right now I'm feeling like I cannot sleep enough (that's a change from only a few hours a day for months) and I'm so frustrated and irritable that I feel guilty just for being around my family.

Sometimes I find planning something AFTER a big event. I call this my transition period. Hope this helps!

I'm still kind of brain dead. My husband is starting to ask if it's the meds. I think it's just post christmas blah.
