I got Ablilify added today. What do you all think? Has anyone had any luck with it?

Hi there, the doctor added abilify to my effexor about a month or so ago. So far it seems to be helping my moods somewhat with no major side effect. I hope you have luck with it also.

I took it for a long time. Then I wasn't sure if it was doing anything, so I tried going off it. That's when I discovered it WAS doing something, because my emotions really went down the toilet without it! So now am I back on it.
Thanks for this!

I take Abilify and had an improvement in depression very quickly. When my dose was 30mg I developed akathisia which is a restlessness that cause you to move (usually your legs) frequently. Once I dropped to 15mg it almost disappeared, showing up infrequently. I really like Abilify and expect to stay on it.

I got off Abilify a couple of months ago when we upped my Lamictal but while I was on it I had the uncontrolled muscle movements too. I found it hilarious though. My leg would jump up,then my arm. It was crazy. Would even wake me up sometimes. Shortly after I stopped taking it, the muscle jumping stopped.

I've been on Abilify for about 6 months; had some side effects, such a weakness - couldn't stand, arms fellt heavy.... My p-doc changed the time that I take it from day to bedtime and added 2 benadryl to my meds to help with the side effects. It's worked and the Abilify is working great!

Abilify (15mg) keeps my daughter from being psychotic even if she goes into a full-blown mania. She takes Cogentin along with it to off-set the possibility of tardive dyskenesia.

Hi. I also take abilify and have mild muscle jumps. It hasn't done very much to prevent my nosedives in mood so my Pdoc has upped the Lamictal. Sometimes it takes awhile for things to work. Waiting...waiting...waiting--we've been at this for awhile, my Pdoc and I--can you tell?

I've been on abilify for several years now at 20mg. I've had no problems.
