Does anyone with Bipolar suffer from non bizzare delusions? I'm not sure what to think, but am very embarrased and upset. I have always thought I had a college degree, but my wife checked the school and they have no record of me attending. No transcripts or nothing. I thought she was trying to make me feel crazy, but I checked it out for myself. My brother confirmed I never attended college. I have some other delusions too from time to time but they always seem so real... what is this?

a lot of times there can be delusions and psychosis with bipolar disorder. that is what happened to me, although my delusions stretched beyond my moods and hence i was branded with schizoaffective disorder.

however there can be static delusions, or delusions that have nothing to do with your primary mental illness. if you've been having this delusion for a long time, that's probably the case. if this delusion is worse with either mania or depression, it is probably a delusion or psychosis related to your disorder

I haven't had your experience but I have had delusions that I have discovered the cure to mental illness, that people are watching me, that people hate me, etc. Mine are mostly paranoid and grandiose. When I was undiagnosed, I would be convinced that I had extreme talent in anything I was interested in and that I could make a living doing it. I also spent an entire semester at college watching out the window for a certain person who I was convinced had been with my boyfriend who had graduated and lived two hours away.

Karma, do you think you hallucinated about being in college and then remembered it as a real memory? I have done this with dreams when my dreams are extremely realistic.
