for the last year i've been thinking tha i maybe bipolar, my mom used to always say that i was until she started saying that it was just my personality trait, but i still think i maybe bipolar. all of last year i was depressed didn't want to go to school made little scatch marks as a cut and wanted hurt things-people- but then this year or late this year i've been up and annoying the crap out of everyone i've been talking to much and playing with people so much that i've gotten them and myself into trouble, so much trouble that i think i'm one of the people that are the cause for this new school rule. i even took a bipolar checklist (that i may take to my new therapist) that i almost filled everything on, and i've took the quiz here which said moderate to sever and the mania and depression quizes. do you guys think i should even be worried about this and that i'm even likly of bipolar no matter what my friends may think? or should i bring this up at my first session?

Yes, bring up everything you can think of. Write it down if you have to. Make sure the doc listens to you and that you get across everything to him/her.
Self harm is a sign of borderline-personality disorder, but it could co-exist with BP as well.

You have to know that only a professional can diagnosis a mental illness. You need to see a medical doctor or, preferably, a psychiatrist.

It's very difficult to diagnose an illness like bipolar in young persons because of their intense development both mental and physical. I would atribute more than half your symptoms to normal (adolescent-teen) development (so-called growing pains)....The other half is not for a forum to decide, but a trained therapist and a caring parent.........
