I am so angry right now. I had a 10:00 appointment with pdoc and here I am at 10:48 and still waiting. She just took in the next person, so it's still gonna be a while. She likes to spend about 25 minutes with each patient. I go through this every single month.
Today I plan to ask her for adderall. I need it for energy and I read it can help depression and increase libido. I have none.
Hope it goes well. I already take 5 meds the way it is.
I am such a sissy when it comes to asking for something .

I've been through that myself with a former pdoc and I know how frustrating it is to have to wait. I didn't want to stop seeing him though because he was a great pdoc in every other way. Can you try to set it up so you are the first patient of the day? That's what I ended up doing and it worked out well...I hated getting up that early but it was better than sitting in the waiting room for so long! Anyhow, I hope things go well and I hope you don't have to wait too much longer!! Take care!

If it happens each time with good regularity; I'd be half an hour late, mentally change my appointment time so I didn't have to sit and cool my heels so long?

Yes, hope it worked out the way you want, Cocos.

I had a p-doc that told me to clear my entire afternoon if I had an appointment with him because he generally ran two hours behind. I didn't care for his style, so I went to someone new. Now I am leaving her in May for reasons other than waiting too long.

Well, my visit went well. No adderall, though. I knew she wouldn't prescribe it to me. She tweeked a few other meds. Waiting stinks, but she does seem to be interested in me and adds suggestions for me. She likes talking. My last pdoc was in and out with me. It was like ," hi, how ya doing, here are your scripts, see you in 3 months." This new one sees me every month.
I have thought about getting the first appointment of the day. I live 45 minutes away, so I would really have to get up early.
And 2 hours to wait is a joke. I'd leave, too,BNLsMOM. Like we don't have a life!

cocos I'm glad to hear the appointment went well (even though you had to wait unreasonably long). It's probably best to tweek what you're already on first than to add another one right away.
Hope it all helps x
Thanks for this!

25 minutes though is a nice session with a pdoc. Usually they run faster than that. Too bad she doesn't adjust her scheduling a appointments to reflect how much time she actually spends with her patients though. My appointments are usually the last of the day (5:40PM). By the end of the day, he is sometimes running late, but he is worth the wait. Sometimes it's just a trade off.

I remember taking my husband to an orthopedist appointment. He literally had 5 patients scheduled for the exact same time. Talk about double booking! It was his normal practice to do that. Ugh!
