i just had one of the worst days of my life. i half way live with my inlaws (they all live downstairs, me and my fam lives up) and i had asked the simplest question, in which i just got a snub nose. i am getting tired of her insults! i am ready to leave this house. i know that i will be miserable without my girls, but i cant be here, this lady is pushing me out of my home! i need help and maybe a sholder or two to cry on?

It sounds really stressful!! Maybe she has problems of her own that make her act out and insult you? Don't make any decisions when you are this upset. Hope tomorrow is better.

I don't know why but I am getting the sense that you are dealing with someone who might be passive aggressive? Whenever family members are throwing their B.S. issues in my direction I've found that the most effective response is being reasonable and assertive.

You are entitled to have your own reasonable boundaries respected, especially in your home. You can be polite and assertive and in my experience if it doesn't make the BS stop, it at least makes me feel better.

Letting your in-law bully you away from your own children seems like it is probably going to hurt both you and them.

I'm wearing my soft fuzzy fleece sweatshirt...so feel free to cry on my shoulder! It is even appropriate...it has a picture of Eeyore and says "Don't Bother Me". Keep posting and venting here to get some of those negative feelings out; you don't deserve to be treated badly.
