I am so glad I went today. Went to see a BHS who then sent me to a crisis care place so I could get started on meds. Saw a psychiatrist&he says I am BP1. I'm starting@25mg of lamictal&in a week it'll be50mg &then2weeks after that its up to100mg. Also have clonazepam for anxiety. Took 1dose and already feeling like my brain is not all manic. Or depressed. But I'm not a zombie either. Hopefully this gets better from here on out.

Ooops, forgot, they also think I may be suffering from PTSD from being abused both sexually&physically as a child and as an adult&they want to continue discussing these painful memories I had pretty much blocked from memory. It was a LONG day but the end result is totally worth it.

I'm so glad for you! The clonazepam is great for anxiety. Lamictal will help stabilise your moods and talking to a T about your past will also be beneficial.
Hang in there - we are here for you!

Lamictal made a huge difference for me. At first it made me feel strange, but once I got up to my full dose I started leveling out. Dealing with the past is difficult and I admire your courage. I have PTSD as well due to sexual abuse as a child. I still have not dealt with it in therapy, but I will someday. Take care!

I'm on Lamictal as well. Originally I had a low dose along with Lithium, but the lithium side effects were unbearable, so my Lamictal has been gradually increased to 200 mg. So far so good. It makes me nervous overall to think that I'm one pill away from mania.....but my pdoc is watching me closely. I'm so glad you had your appointment and are feeling better right away. Getting on meds that work for you will make everything easier......all the best, greylove
