So, I had 2.5 hours of sleep last night and have been up for 21 hours now. I am SOO grumpy and so tired.
My doc changed me from Triazolam to Sonata for sleeping and I think the Sonata doesn't like me....it doesn't kick in like it's supposed to.
So, I gave up and just took a Tylenol PM. I hope it works because I am not a nice person when I have no sleep. My hubby doesn't like what is going on with me right now. He thinks it's crap that I keep having to go through all these meds to find the right ones. He's frustrated, too.
This Bipolar crap is exhausting...especially when I am depressed, but my body just wants to stay up! Grrr...

Going through the med rollercoaster is frustrating for US and okay maybe also for our significant others who in a perfect world hold our hands and say things like 'I know how hard this is for you but thank you so much for being strong and trying!'

Something that actually worked with a roommate/best friend was when I said "How bought if it's my turn to fall apart this time?' you need support right now not nagging and naysaying.

I fight sleep too. What I try to bear in mind are those early morning hours when i can't imagine anywhere I would rather be than tucked into my bed sleeping.. Keep us updated, Em

Did the Tylenol PM help at all? I know how frustrating it is to not be able to sleep!! Let us know how you're doing!

Have you ever tried some of the older anti-psychotics? Thorazine works well as does Nozinan. The regular sleep med never worked for me either.

Sending purple fairy dust your way so that you can sleep.

Thank you everyone.
Yeah, my husband always tells me how strong I am because I fight so hard to try to work WITH the Bipolar and not against it.
Yes, the Tylenol PM worked wonderfully! I got to sleep around 3am and just got up about 30 minutes ago...so I got about 5.5-6 hours of sleep!
Maxime, I have not tried those meds. I will have to see about what my NP thinks about them. Thanks for the purple fairy dust. I will need to save some for tonight!

I too had that horrible roller coaster of meds.2 trips to the hospital and 2 years later...I feel great. Wanted to die because I never ever thought I would get better! The change to Lamictal and Lexapro made all the difference. Don't give up. You have to believe that eventually the meds will work. I swear that life is so much better

The not being able2sleep well deal is obnoxious. Since I'm waiting2c my new MD I'm not taking anything. Last nite I went2bed@1&slept like ****. Finally got outta bed@7but now I'm feeling awfully sleepy but if I sleep now ill be up all nite....sleeping RXs never work4me tho. Tylenol PM is just tylenol with benadryl in it&benadryl makes me feel jittery@nite. Tried RXs but they made me drowsy the next day&I would fall asleep@work all the time. I work standing all day so u can imagine seeing me fallin asleep while standing!!
I'm glad u got2sleep last nite! Hopefully tonite will work out just fine&u can get even more sleep!
Sending u (((((((hugs)))))))))

I feel your frustrations... hope things work out OK for you.
I'm still trying to decide what to do with my sleeping tabs, as I'm so scared I'm getting addicted.

You can try melatonin. It is an herbal sleep remedies. It does not enter fear with prescription meds.Works well for me.

Thanks. The new pdoc was SHOCKED that I was on so many meds. It was no wonder I have been having so many issues.
He is taking out some and upping the doses on others.
Thanks for the concern!
