Nausea is killing me I just want to lay down and cry cos it's frustrating. It's very recent and not at all daily, my mood tracker shows that on average I have 2 yuck days a week...

I have a question... do the side effects of you BP meds set in as soon as you go on them, as soon as they start working, or 2 months into taking them? I've been on my combo since July and have recently started this nausea battle... Beside the nausea I'm doing GREAT, but am I even on the right track here?

Thanks in advance

Are you on lithium? If so, this is a sign of toxicity.

I'm guessing side effects can happen any time. I've been feeling kind of woozy off and on lately, and when I really thought about it, it was more dizzy first, then woozy. Come to find out, 3 of the 5 meds I take are labeled, "May cause dizziness"...

It's always worth checking side effects with your doctor - I would be suspicious about side effects that start when you are already taking meds - you sort of have to wonder what has changed inside your body to have a different reaction to the drugs...
The other thing is that both nausea and dizzines are very nonspecific that is they could be caused by anything, and if not the drugs then you want to know what it is.

Trippin2.0; I would suggest you speak to your p-doc. I will mention that when I'm having issues with anxiety I feel nauseous.

Are you feeling any better? Or did your pdoc have anything to say?

He suga,

Felt stupid about bugging him, like I said, I feel sick maybe twice a week...

It's crappy, but I'll live. He can hear it at my next session.

How do I feel now? WAY better than yesterday, looking at my arm makes me feel stupid tho, this SI thing is slowly getting out of hand. At first it was under EXTREME duress to relieve severe pain, yesterday was about feeling better.

This self-loathing has seriously got to come to an end. BUT HOW?

All in all I'm good, glad to see your coin is still on the right side too

Thanks for checking in, I know you have your own load to carry...

See if your medical aid will not cover T sessions for you too. It will help you work through whatever emotions are underlying and causing you to SI.
Alternatively, and I don't know if it exists, is it possible to order a book through Kalahari.net that will teach you how to deal with your emotions, or CBT?
Maybe some some guys on here have suggestions (Will start a thread now, cos It's soemthing I'm interested in too)

Thanks. Can u believe Psychiatric health is not covered by my option?
As you know they are forced to foot the bill for BP medication but I have to pay for my sessions...

Getting proper medical aid as sOOn as I get a new job *watch this space*

I'm with some medical aid underwritten by Medscheme. I know it's pretty comprehensive, unfortunately not very cheap (But my work pays half) and there is a portion for psychiatric stuff too. Check the web for info on PMB - I'm sure all aspects of BP need to be covered and NOT just the meds.
Then also speak to a lawyer or your pdoc - my T mentioned that when my psych benefit runs out, she can write a motivational letter to transfer funds from another part of my benefits. And right now she knows I need T!! I could never afford it without medical aid tho

Will do! Glad you are feeling so much better Trippin! Sorry I don't have any advice avoiding SI, but surely others will have some ideas.

(SI's simply not one of my "things". Self-loathing yes, wish I knew the answer to that one myself! )
Thanks for this!
