I recall that fun. Had to up the dose slowly. No problems though, thank goodness.

I tried it once before, and had something that could have either been a reaction or a coincidence, so we are trying again just to see what happens. Hoepfully, I will just get better.

I started at 50mg with no problems. I am on 200mg now and still have not had an issue. Wonderful med for me though. I hope it works for you

But I do know about coincendence becasue right after I started mine I had bought new laundry soap....well, I went into a panic thinking I had the "lamictal rash" when it was the laundry soap the entire time! I felt like an idiot running into the pdoc's office freaked out over my "rash" when in fact is was a reaction to the different soap lol. Oh well, we can laugh about it now!

My reaction was swollen lymph nodes. I could have been a random infection, so that is what we are hoping. I am starting so slow, so I probably won't see the full effect for a couple of months. We are starting at 25mg every other day for two weeks, then 25mg per day for two weeks, and then we will go up from there according to a schedule that my p-doc thinks is the safest.

I hope it works, because I have heard so many great things about it.

Well my wife actually takes it for seizures and I take it for BD2(1)..
Her doc started her out at 100mg I think...
I had to start on the titration sample..
25 - 50 - 50 - 100 - 100 I think..

Luckily neither one of us had "the rash" so all ended up well.
We are still both on it... not sure if it is helping either of us though.

That's what dose I started at too and now I'm at 300mg/day. It's been a great med for me and I wish I was put on it from the beginning. I found it was really hard waiting for the dose to get to a therapeutic level, but after I got over that hump it really helped. Headaches can be part of the side effects, so make sure you stay hydrated that seemed to help for me when I increased from 250 to 300mg. I have always drank a lot of water and now I have increased it a bit.

For swollen lymph nodes a good healing natural practice is bathing with Epsom salts, it's very cleansing!

Fingers crossed! Lamictal in combo with Wellbutrin has worked well for me. I guess my doc is extremely conservative - I started at 12.5 mg, upping it 12.5 every week.

That's basically what my dosing schedule adds up to. Since I am doing 25mg every other day, it averages out to 12.5 per day.

@Kate - yes, you need to be very cautious and alert with regards to the rash.
It seems like your pdoc is titrating you VERY fast - please be careful

I agree, which is amusing since he went off about how dangerous it was to titrate too quickly and the rash and etc., then he prescribes it to me this way. I've not had any side effects or any sign of the rash so far, but i haven't upped to 100 a day yet. I'm more than a little worried. Thanks for your concern!

I hope it goes well for you, Kate.

As for me, I think I am being a little hypervigilant, because I think that some of my lymph nodes are tender but not swollen. Then again, I keep pressing them, so I may be making them tender. I am going to just continue to watch closely, and hope for the best.

It is also that time of year where you can catch a slight cold and the lymph nodes will be tender. You may not feel sick, but the lymph nodes are affected. That is how mine are right now.

True. My kids have been sick off and on since September, so I may just be fighting off their infections.
