Hi, I'm a long time bipolar sufferer -- seeking to connect with other bipolars for support, etc. I am new to this forum.

Any way to sort for members who are bipolar sufferers (not just all members on psych central?

Any suggestions, or other helpful forums/websites, etc. are appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome Greg. To meet people on the Psych Central I would suggest just posting and responding to posts on the bipolar forum. We also have a BP Social Society the link for that group is in my signature.

Blueoctober's idea is a good one of course, but upon reading your post, I thought of a feature that is right on your "My Profile" page". Click on it, and if you scroll down the options on the left hand side of the page (Your Control Panel), at the bottom you will see an option called "Find Others". Click right below that on "Others Like You" and a list will come up with all the folks that list bipolar as their primary concern (for themselves, I believe, as in scanning the list I didn't see names of others I readily remember as listing it as a concern for say, a family member). There are 6 pages of us.
And of course, welcome to the forums, RIDINGTHATTRAIN!

I also am a long-time BP sufferer. I have been battling this for a very long time. It really doesn't seem to get easier, but you do learn how to cope with it and ride with it as much as possible.

Feel free to ask me anything.

Thanks - I am going to try the "find others" option.

Actually right now, I think my next task is to fill out a proper profile and and such.

Thank you.

Thanks -- I am going to check out the BP social society.

Right now I'm going to put together a proper profile and introduction.

Thanks,

Hi, thanks for responding.

Right now I'm going to put together a proper profile and make an intro thread.

Take care,

Greg T.

There are are User Control Panels and there are Public Profiles.

To access the "Find Others Like You" link, go to the User Control Panel, by clicking on "My Profile" on the upper left of any forum page. Then scroll all the way down on the far left to find the "Find Others Like You". Click, and voila, there we all are!

To access your Public Profile Page, click on your underlined forum user name (on any forum page, upper right). It does have the profile you wrote. It is there on the "About Me" tab. Because you listed BP as you primary concern, you and all of us other BPers who have done likewise are included in the "Find Others Like You" list.

(Since you already did write a profile, you can either cross it off your to-do list , or edit it from your User Control Panel under Edit Your Details, near top left.)

Hope that is clearer than my earlier post and helpful to you.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
