I am looking for help for my older sister, she has been dealing with an adult 35 yr old daughter diagnosised bi-polar with schz tendencies. This been really hard on my sister. The daughter lives in San Antonio, Texas and is unable to handle her own affairs or live on her own. Is there help out there? Group home environments, like there are places for Asberger's and the like.

Surely do some on-line searching if your not there. I believe most large cities or even medium ones have "shelter homes" or group homes for the disabled. Mostly look at "health care centers". Alot of times they will be called "health departments". I know in Michigan there is a "county health department" in every county. They supply a person that seeks treatment a "case manager" that assists them if finding the best living enviroment for that person.
Good luck - hope this helps some.

Welcome help4carole. I would suggest that your sister speak with her daughter's psychiatrist and inquire about options. She may also want to find a face to face support group for family members that are diagnosed.
The book in my signature is written for friends/family/significant other of those diagnosed. It's excellent.
