Welcome to the forum. If you don't know what to say right off the bat, that's okay. Take a look around and see what others are talking about. If you feel like contributing, hop in. If not, that's okay, too.

Hello Newbie, remember, we were all newbies to the diagnosis at one time. Many of use are now veterans of this disorder and can share our experience and what has worked for us. But before we can do that we need a little more detailed info. Are you bp 1 or bp 2? Are you a raped cycler or long term cycler with extended bouts of depression and mania?
Are you on meds yet? Do you trust the diagnois of this doctor. Do you keep a mood journal to record your daily, monthly or even yearly big picture of your cycles. There are a great many meds to treat the different types of bp. It may take some trial and error...but it's worth it.

As a newbie to bp I know how scary, confusing and the desire to go into denial can be hard to resist. Please don't deny your diagnosos, research it, learn as much as you can about it...this will help in education of bp. Being armed with info is forwarned and therefor forearmed. Learn to recognize your cycles and create a lifestyle that works well with your type of cycling. We are all here to help you and answer any further questions you might have.
This website is an excellent source to self-discovery and spending time in this particular forum will give much insight, the ability to relate to others and recognize in others what you can relate to.
I look forward to getting to know you better and hopefully be helpful in the support you need.
TgrsPurr, xo.
