I dont know whether its a case of being 'ever the pessimist,' but i feel its going to make me feel worse, but i am really going to give it a chance!
I'll let you know what happens!!

Does it help you sleep? I was looking up on these meds and see Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic. I thought I'd never taken one, until I realised Sulpiride is an Atypical antipsychotic I used to use as needed (Kind of like Klonopin) - anyone have any experience?

hope it works well for you, it was not good for me but that means nothing. Best of luck, watch your mood, any signs of trouble ring your prescribing doctor.

If I don't take it I don't sleep at all. BUT sometimes I have trouble even taking it so I added melatonin and that helps. BUT did not sleep at all last night without it.

I take 300mg seroquel xr every night. Because it's the xr version, it doesn't completely knock me on my butt. It is a bit more subtle.

Well i took it at 11.45pm and was asleep by 12.15am, didnt wake up til 5.45pm the next day which is 17 and a half hours!! its now 7.20pm and i haven't really felt anything but a bit tired and dont really feel like saying much.
Its for Bipolar and voices and stuff.
But i'm contemplating NOT taking it tonight, because i feel worse than i did yesterday and dont want to miss every day.
I had 3 texts, 2 missed calls when i woke up today, and my friend had been ringing my doorbell for 15 minutes. The doorbell usually wakes me right up!

Also talk to your pdoc about the xr version of seroquel. It isn't nearly as harsh.

Really! That's pretty amazingly sledgehammer-like medicine! Venus was right. Not just about the tired, How do you feel in general with the 300?

to be honest by about 8pm, i didnt feel too bad! but i felt like hadnt had enough sleep.
i felt just... meh. kinda think.
i been forcing myself to stay awake cause i missed my whole day.
and when i woke up it just felt like someone had snapped their fingers at 12am and then suddenly it was 5pm the next day! not like i had actually been to sleep.
so really i only got up 7 hours ago, thats not a day!! I know that to get better i ought to do what my pdoc said and now i should take 600mg,
But i dont want 'getting better,' just meaning i am asleep so much i dont have time to do anything let alone be manic or depressed, and other than that just go to work.
i dont know whether it is normal to ask for time off work while i get used to this... what if this is how the meds will affect me forever and thats good to the pdocs point of view cause i will never be manic again and never hear the voices.
am i asking too much to want to be able to have a life again?
so really i dont know what to do, the crisis line in my area stops at 11pm,so i have no one to call and no one to turn to except u guys.
if u have read my post a few days ago, called 'absolutely terrified,'well anyway in relation to that, me and My best friend Robert have been to the pub (i didnt drink) and he met Adam the guy he fancies, and RObert has decided he is staying at Adams tonight, so i have just came home on my own, and i cant help it, but its so horrible, i cant even describe it.. It feels like he is my HUSBAND and i know he is cheating, even tho, we are in the end, best friends, and i am not 'in love,' with him, i feel like we are brother and sister... but its affecting me so bad, to the point i dont even think i am bipolar, i think i am borderline, or both!!
sorry for the ramble, just have NO ONE to turn to and i am feeling sorry for myself and confused.
one good thing, is my appetite has severely DECREASED! i was scared that one seroquel tablet and that would be it, i wouldnt stop eating!! haha

i'm just having a mental battle with myself.
take it... dont take it.. take it... dont take it...
i have a feeling if i do i will regret it, althought my rational thinking part says, 'this is the medication for the illness YOU HAVE. TAKE THE ******* TABLETS, DONT LISTEN TO MR MANIAC IN THE CORNER THERE FILLING UR HEAD WITH S***"

Hi Widgets.
I'd be concerned to take a med that will knock you out like that. And then upping it to 600mg...?? Phone your pdoc. It almost sounds like a drug like that needs to be introduced in a controlled environment e.g. Hospital.

I hope some of the other symptoms are being resolved though

I don't think it's your mania talking... it's perfectly rational not wanting to take something that knock you out this badly. Some meds DON'T WORK for a particular person and 15 hours of cataconic sleep does not sound as getting better. Anything the messes up your sleep patterns this badly cannot be good for you at least not for the moment.

I hope you manage to solve the situation and feel better soon.

I took the 600mg, because i thought, things always take a while to level out, i had a night of horrific confusion, not quite asleep but not awake, i couldnt open my eyes and i was having bad dreams but while still awake.
My friend came round at 3pm, the doorbell woke me straight away, the med makes u have low blood pressure so as soon as i got out of bed i felt really dizzy and sick, i went downstairs and to the shop to get a drink and was sick as soon as i got back.
now its levelled out, i still feel i need to lay down and rest my head, but my mood has actually improved, its just the PHSYICAL effects that are really awful.
I am meant to have work tomorrow, i have already had around 4 days off sick and have only been there for 5 months, i am scared that:
1. i wont wake up for work.
2. its a job that involves NO sitting down, i feel that if i do somehow force myself outta bed at 8am, i'm not going to be able to walk or stand, i struggled to even talk today.
Does anyone think it would be a good idea to take my meds in and show my manager the leaflet with the side effects.
I want to go to work, but feeling how i did today it really would be extremely hard.
i text my care worker but she hasnt replied.

WOW... I would NOT be on that much so fast. That is way too fast. So when I was on that much my Pdoc put me on medical leave to get me there because you have to sleep so much to get there. I would definitely tell your boss what you are taking. My Pdoc had me take two weeks to get to 600mg. Now that faster the get to 600mg the faster you get rid of the delusions. I hope you are feeling ok. Please do not DRINK alcohol at all. You need to get some melatonin to help you sleep 10mg. It is natural.
