She is going to keep me on the 25mg of Lamictal and see if the sickness and pain goes away. She also tole me that I should go see my gp since this has been going on for three weeks now. If I get a clean bill of health, then we might do a vacation from Lamictal and see if my symptoms go away. We hope that the sickness and pain with go away so I can go up on Lamictal and get rid of Depakote. The only problem is that I will have to bring the kids with me to an appointment because they don't have school because of the snow.

Hope you start feeling better soon. The meds roulette wheel is not fun. But you will reach a place of stability and hope. I'm living proof of that. Big hugs.

I hope the lamictal works out for you - you deserve to find something that really works! (depakote is like toxic waste or something hope you can get rid of it) Lamictal and depakote at the same time is really tricky.

If I ever have to bring my kiddo to an appt I will have to bring the dvd player she got for her birthday...I know bad mommy but I don't want my 2 year old repeating words like MANIA and LITHIUM to Grandma and Grandpa (they dont know im nuts) LOLOLOL

HUGS for you!

Thank You Ama

I actually had to talk to the nurse today. I am actually starting to get off of lamictal and get BACK on depakote. It actually worked for me.

They told me that I have to cut back my regular 200mg to 100mg for a week.... then be OFF of Lamictal for 3 WEEKS before I start on depakote. They didnt tell me the specifics WHY but hey, I was told by two separate people so... I comply. I just wanted to know if you were ever given any kind of, "Juggling Lamictal and Depakote isnt a good idea" or any kind of talk. Just wondering if that could be an issue of being on both at the same time.

My kids are great inthe waiting room. If I had to bring the 3.5 year old without his brother, he would have to come in with me. I have to do that tomorrow in therapy. That should be an adventure.

Depakote raises the level of Lamictal in the blood so titration up has to be done slowly. I imagine they want to make sure all the lamictal is out of the blood before putting you on Depakote.

Hoping this will work out for you. I know the frustrations of finding a med combo, but keep it up!

Amazon - you made me giggle, lol
