After having a conversation with my p-doc about my sickish symptoms over the last three weeks possibly being linked to Lamictal, I took a nap. When I woke up, I had a headache and a sore throat. My throat is getting worse and I looked at it with a flashlight and it seems red and has some patches of yellow and while. Probably strep. I will be calling my gp tomorrow even though I have an appointment at 10 with my T and one at 3:30 at the vet, and I have the youngest with me all day because his preschool is closed.

Could it be a cold or infection too? And just by chance it's come on at about the same time as you started the Lamictin? I'm sick at the moment too, so I can empathise

You've been posting about this for quite some time... is it possible something is messing with your immunity?

That's what my p-doc and I wonder. I am going to get an appt twith my gp and if she gives me a clean bill of health, then my pdoc wants to stop the Lamictal for a while and see if the symptoms go away. If they do, the we will re challenge and see if they come back.

I went to see gp yesterday and she said that there is no ear infection, no sinus infection, clear lungs, etc. She sent me for blood work which came back normal. They did a cbc, depakote and liver function test.

So knowing that there is nothing really wrong with me, I called my p-doc's office and left a message. My doctor is sending my lab results to her. The only thing we found wrong was a higher than normal pulse.

I just want to feel better. My husband has a cold right now and is acting like a baby / jerk, and we are both having a hard time with the kids.

No more Lamictal for me. We may or may not rechallenge after my next appointment. I am stuck with depakote for the moment.
