In 1 hour.
If you've followed my story, you'll know what a torrid time I've had to find a pdoc. Now I'm going back to the one that first dx'd me... at the time Major Depressive Episode. And now - I tell him it's BP II?? Not sure how that's going to go down.

I am so nervous of these damn doctors - they just seem so cold. Just if I don't like him, I just wont go back; simple...

He hauled out my file and rattled off what meds he last knew me to be on... But those were not meds he prescribed me?!? Now I think my file has been travelling from one pdoc to the next...eek

He wasn't to perterbed. Has doubled the dosages of my Lamictin as well as my Wellbutrin, and told me to stay away from the Klonopin as much as possible - the increased Lamictin should also help with the anxiety.
So I then go back in a month's time, after which my meds can be put onto chronic for the medical aid.
And I can hopefully get a battle plan up and runnign with him for when I get floored with depression again. It's very hard to try explain when you are actually feeling well... and I think doctors don't take you serious enough then...

I'm lucky I struck gold with my pdoc, I haven't had any negative experiences with him, ad he's sO easy to talk to...

I'm glad your Dr is getting the ball rolling with your meds, hope he's "the one"

Thanks Madis - what dose are you on?
Apparently breaking my Wellbutrin in half would have caused a Wellbutrin 'rush' - I think Wellbutrin is used recreationally too... now to hope I haven't gotten addicted to it in that sense.
This mornign was my first time of taking Lamictin in the morning. I have to take 100mg AM, and 100mg PM. Wow - more to remember!

I think my attitude to pdoc's has changed. This one does know his stuff. I just felt he was cold the first time I met with him. Now I understand it's their job. Well, they are just doctors. My T is the soft and caring one.
Felt bad having to give him my previous pdoc's name; hope he doesn't contact her...
Especially as she did Stuff up my meds badly. (too low dose of Lamictin and making me break an extended release tab)

The first session can be very 'cold' as they are trying to get the full picture and can choose to use the formulaic interviews to cover everything.

I've found in 20+ years of going to pdocs, they aren't much for personality. I'm really happy to have found one that is pretty nice, but even she isn't very warm and friendly, just better than the others I've been to. the most important thing Sugahorse is that you feel like you are being listened to and understood and of course that you are feeling better.

You know, I've been thinking, and this could be a good thing, sugahorse. Your new pdoc may well recognize the meds problems... especially the splitting of the Wellbutrins--to be a no-no. It seems unlikely that a pdoc would want to follow something simply because it was a precedent, especially seeing something like that.

(You know, I had my old records transferred w/o fear, and in fact I was very curious to read them! New psych had no problem with that.)

I've heard people on both sides of this and it seems as if those who questioned a diagnosis were on the more more reticent side, wanting a fresh perspective on what's going on. When it wasn't a diagnosis issue, it seems people were more glad to not have to repeat their stuff again and again with new ones. Maybe that's just my take on hearing different people talk about their experiences.

AM/PM... yup, more to remember! A daily pill box has helped (first because of having a hard time remembering what day it is and did I take it, or ???). By looking at it, I know not only what day it is, lol, but if there is one left... aha! PM dose. I've only forgotten once since then--ehhh, a bit of an "out there" night. Let's leave it at that. Otherwise... even coming from a very "Routine? What's that?" person, it's not too hard a habit to get into.

Keep us posted! Sounds like you're off to a good start, sugahorse!

Thank you.
It wasn't too bad going back to him, as he was my first pdoc. I cannot even remember why I ended up running away from him, lol!
My bf also suggested the pill box idea, lol

Wellbutrin is keeping me up now though...

Lol @ Trippin - I used to have one; think I threw it out (Assume that was when my brain still worked somewhat!)
