Hi, i'm new to this forum. I have recently (last week) been diagnosed with bipolar. Been in a major depressive state for a while now. I am on mood stabilizers and sleeping pills, but everyday just feels worse. I wish sometimes that i just had the guts to end it all... i cant function and feels like something has died in me....

Hope you will feel better soon. It is very debilitating to be so down.

bocelli... it sucks to feel like that, but also remember that it does take awhile for mood stabilizers to do their thing. And just being dx'd?... and with only being a week? Yeah. That's a lot to adjust to especially in such a short span of time. Try to be kind and patient with yourself, ok?

And welcome to the forums This is a very kind and understanding place full of people who can relate... we're all on this ride together...

Hey there,
I was diagnosed between six and eight months ago (sorry to be so vague, but I was quite poorly at the time and can't be more precise as to details) and I felt dreadful when I heard. I thought I'd never feel better.

I'm fine now (well, a little insomniac, but that's nothing compared to where I was.) Hang on, and give the meds time to work. There's no point taking a drastic decision that can never be undone, like suicide. Things can and will get better. No mood will last forever. Have faith, even if just a tiny bit, and see what the future will bring. If I could get better, I'm sure you can too.

Yah, pretty bad. Usually, I cant even write abuot it when it is on.
Meds take a long time to work, but hang on, it will pass.

Hi bocelli. i know you feel awful right now. like Innerzone and everyone else was saying, you have a lot on your plate right now. It's been very helpful to write on thes board and share with people that understand. Please do not think in such final thoughts - these feelings are temporary - once the meds start to kick in you'll start to feel better.

Ditto what everyone else said..just hang on for a little while. I was diagnosed in July and have had my meds tweaked 3 times since and am finally feeling close to normal. It gets better, I promise.

bocelli,
I understand where you are coming from. It is hard when you are first diagnosed to figure out what is going on and it can take some time to get a treatment plan that really works for you. Stick with it. It can and will get better.
