They said they could take the bloid fro
the vial they alread had and took my phone number. May e 1/2 an hour later, they called to say they found the order. But why do they have to first look at you like you're a crack addict fishing fir a hit when you say you need a lithium level?

Got my lithium level back. Was about 1/3 in the normal range. Makes me wonder if I was bottomed out before my new dose.

These delusions are called ideas of reference Moose. You can get them when you are hypomanic and usually have insight about them being delusional. Its a good thing to consult with your doctor about augmenting your medication or supplementing your meds with another antipsychotic. If you have ideas of reference when full blown manic you would have no insight into their delusional nature - they become your reality as you have become psychotic. This state usually will land you in the hospital as a manic episode this acute needs pretty severe intervention. I have ideas of reference both when I am hypomanic and manic. I also have ideas of influence when manic. This symptom is an important indicator that you need help.

Topher, I had my lithium upped a few days after it happened and it's in a mid-theraputic range after a week. If I'd let it go without calling, I wouldve gotten worse and possibly been sent to the hospital. So far s good wth lithium. I hate antipsychotics. Never been hospitalized. I'll go read your link.

"Persons with ideas of reference may experience:

A feeling that people on television or radio are talking about or talking directly to them"

this is not what I experienced. The tv cable box - which never produces sound as that's not it's function- was playing music and talking to me.

Lithium is a miracle for me. So many of our friends struggle to find the right med or coctail of meds to keep them stable and functioning. Despite my extreme symptoms when ill, lithium does the job with no altered thinking and only mild side effects. I may sound like I have stock in the drug, but actually I just feel lucky.

My son's T is telling him what bipolar means. He suggested to me on the phone that he might be rather than depressed. Suggested BP2. Pdoc would have to confirm. Ugh. Too much for a 13-year-old the handle!!!!

Saw her. We talked about side effects like lack of word recall, stuttering, saying vowels differently, and just plain weirdness. She thinks that the tremors are likely lithium, but to talk to my primary in case it's seizures. I'm switching to extended release version. She said my symptoms are vonsistsnt with a manic episode, though. I do feel better on the new dose. Can't get the new pills till tomorrow turns out. No biggie. Have regulars.

Glad you saw her. I hope things start to regulate a bit more.

I'm glad she was able to give you some answers, and that you're getting your meds soon. Lack of word recall... is that a common side effect of meds for bipolar, schizoaffective? Because I keep forgetting things these days, and it's driving me up the wall.
