It's falling out in clumps. I am a sobbing mess over it, I think the lithium ruined my hair. Now I have to get it all cut off but I don't know what style they could even give me. I will look like even more of a freak.
I hate myself. My meds are also making me fat. A little bit of meds is ok, lots of med means lots of me. Respond, dont respond, I dont care. I wish I could disappear.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to dye my hair platinum blond and it now feels like doll hair b/c it's so dry. The ends are breaking off... You and me, baby, we're be the hairless wonders
On a more serious note, you're amazing. Hair does not define you, nor does weight. As hard as it may be at the moment, don't ever forget that you are beautiful, through and through. |

so many things effect our hair......the time stress caused me serious anorexia...my hair was nothing but straw....& falling out horribly. Use of good conditioner.
Like Laur88 said though, you are you no matter what hair or weight issues exist....what we are inside exists no matter what the outside of the package ends up struggling with.

Hair and weight does not define person,, but it does define their health, so I would talk to doctor about this, just to make sure there isn't something else going on.

It's so hard when the meds that are supposed to make us feel better do things to our bodies that make us feel badly. I have been dealing with serious weight gain and have put on about 50+lbs in the last year. I went to Weight Watchers last night so I have sparked hope about my weight.
I don't know what texture your hair was to begin with, but I know that mine is dry and has always been. I make sure to wash it only once each week with a shampoo that has no sulfates. One brand that is really good is Deva No-Poo. It is meant for curly hair, but is more of a thick nourishment that you rub on your scalp. I worry that my hair will fall out eventually from my meds, but so far I have been lucky. I wish I could offer you solid advice on what to do about it, but maybe your med doses are too high. Can you talk to your p-doc and explain what you are going through? I hope things get better, and in the worst case scenario, you could just embrace it and shave it all off or get it really short and spiky, and make use of great hats and scarves. |

I would also check with the doctors because our meds usually affect our thyroid, and that affects our metabolism. (This can contribute to both issues you're having)
I hope you get better/feel better! ![]() |
