Has anyone taking Risperidone developed any symptoms of tardive dyskinesia? I have not but I read in an article from the American Journal of psychiatry that it is possible.

Risperidone/dal made my face break out immensely. I hated it so much I went off of it after a few weeks. Geodon is my salvation in that class of meds. I used almost a whole bottle of concealer makeup during those weeks on Risperidone.

I am new to the site and am simply registering because I am desparate for answers doctors cant seem to come up with. I wanted to poll people who knew about this drug. About 2 years ago I had explained to a doctor that I used to have a natural energy and as I had drinken alcohol in college I simply relaxed myself permanently and wanted to get some of the energy back, after going "nuts" from not being able to be at the place I want A psychiatrist wrongly prescribed me risperidone for the thought disorder Anyway the rispdiridone itself doesn't seem to work but but about 10 minutes in to taking the smallest ammount of risperidone possible...like a 1/4 of a .25 pill it gives me a huge and seemingly reliable sense of energy. It doesn't last and it is heartbraking, but when this happens I am exactly give or take of course where I want to be. I can do the work after I get this surge so to speak, but its not even a surge. I'm suffering from this loss of energy.....I can explain in further detail, and would like to, not sure if people will get back to me...Anyway I will respond.

I was on respiridone for a few years but my prolactin levels shot up to 2200 (should be about 400-600) it was eventually changed for amisulpride which I discovered ha the same effect so basically I've been living with raised prolactin for about 5 years, the long term effects are not good but my pdoc is more interested in keeping me mentally well while he destroys my body!!
