Just can't work this out...and I'm frustrated because I know I'm not stable as such.

I can't get to sleep before midnight. Then I struggle to wake up in time for my alarm at 6:30AM for work.
I am very opinionated and my conversations get very heated as I usually insist On getting my point through. I'm not too willing to listen to others' point of view. I am very irritable and feel overwhelmed, especially at work. Just yesterday I shouted at colleagues to back off and just leave me to find my feet. Because I have a lot of work on my plate. It all seems too much.
So, hypomanic doesn't quite fit, because I'm tired in the morning. But I get through the day and battle to fall asleep. I'll also wake up in the middle of the night, but usually fall asleep within minutes.
I don't feel depressed really; just a bit alone at times.
I took a Klonopin this AM and it nearly knocked me out.
I've taken to listening to my iPod most of the day, including worship music. A bit of a different routine for me.
I also cancelled my T app yesterday because I almost felt like I needed space. Needed time to work out where I was at. I'm being quite nasty and selfish to other people too.

My pdoc had given me Concerta to try, but I didn't feel it helped much, so I stopped it a week or so ago. I just take my Lamictin and Wellbutrin...
I don't like the person I am and feeling the way I do

Sugahorse, Im sorry your going through such a rough time right now. It, sometimes, doesnt need to be labled "hyper or hypo", neither really fit just right. Surely getting only around 6 hrs of sleep, and not even steady sleep it playing a big role. Sleep is our savior, helps the body reset. It could easily explain being irritable during the day. I have always thought the best 'treatmet' for any psych issue is a good sleep pattern. Sounds like you should take the klonopin at bedtime, not in the morning

I not familar with concerta, but what I read it's an ADHD type drug, wasn't able to find where it could be used for psych complaints, but that doesn't mean it has an off lable use between p-docs. Im not sure what his thoughts were about using it. Either way, aggitation and irritablity where listed as "withdrawl" symptoms.

I think an appointment with the T would be helpfull as you can run this all by him and get a professional opinion.

Best of wishes, hope you start feeling better.

Thanks. The Concerta was prescribed for a possible ADHD diagnosis.
After 2 weeks I stopped. Was not giving me any positive results, still felt the same and was going to cost me a fortune too.
I'll see T next Fri, 29th.
Klonopin at night, or a sleep aid, sounds like a plan

Sometimes, I get that way as I am heading into a depression.

I generally have mixed states, and what you've described sounds really close to mine, except lately it hasn't been depression, but just agitated mania, I think. I've had difficulty falling asleep lately, but once I'm dead I sleep like 7-8 hours!

My pdoc told me that feeling agitated, paranoid and over-thinking can be signs of it. She said I might not be BP1, but as of right now thats my dx. She also told me that it can take up to 10 years before they diagnose BP1 for some patients. I would write down all your symptoms and show it to your doctor.
