Today I lost my friend. This happened because she had a paranoid episode and thought every one of her friends were out to take every thing she had and she was going to be homeless. We had to call the local CIT(crisis intervention trained) officers. She ran before they arrived. They put out a BOLO on her to do a wellness check. Apparently they found her and she ended up in the hospital for 10 days. She got out yesterday and blames me for doing that. The truth is, I had nothing to do with it other than I was there when the call was made and stayed for the report that was made. I did not know that she had ended up in the hospital as no one called me to let me know. She is now taking all her anger out on me. I some what understand this, though it still hurts. Any suggestions on how to handle this terrible situation???

Even if you did call, I don't think you where wrong. She was hosiptalized for a reason, they don't hosiptalize people for the heck of it. I sorry shes taking her anger out on you. Try talking to her when shes calm and ready to listen to your side of the story or send a letter or email telling her what really happened and why. Wish you the best of luck.

My last hospitialtion was a involuntary commitment. I was angry for awhile but got past the anger at others and put the energy in doing better. Hopefully she will see that others did it for her own good. Sometimes it is easy to blame others instead of looking at ourselves.
