Hi, my name is ******* but, you can call me Blue.
![]() I've officially been dxed as BP2 after experiencing a drug (ssri + adderall) induced hypomanic episode that lasted for almost a month. It was great! I fully appreciate the diagnosis of BP2 and while I hate how debilitating it can be, I take comfort in being able to give a name to what I have. I like knowing there is hope and treatment courses. Im still on the hunt for the right meds. Seroquil is out, its too expensive. Lamictal is out, I expirienced a rare side effect involving renal function. So, right now Im left with Adderall for ADHD (dxed as a teen). I know I need to balance my moods before treating the ADHD but, Im so burnt out of seeing my pdoc. I'll re-address the med issue next month when I run out of my A. My question is whether or not you can feel the change in moods coming? I know Im on the downward slide of a manic episode right now and I have this sense that rather than balancing off a little, I will be going into a depressive state. I don't know how to explain this other than I've notice increasing guilt and anxiety. I can almost measure the increases day by day. Im worried that it wont stop. If my depression is as sever as my mania I am in for a lot of trouble! Again, Im just wondering if you can predict your upcoming moods and how would you describe the "in between" changes. Thanks in advice, BP newbie

Welcome!
I know that I can recognize some subtle symptoms, so I don't think I'm necessarily predicting but noticing. Some of the things I may notice...sleeping more, lack of concentration, difficulty finding words, eating comfort food more regularly, not answering the phone. As I start noticing the symptoms I'm now able to start taking certain actions to minimize. Example: if i start avoiding the phone, I know that it is probably time to do the exact opposite.
