Hello all!

Haven't been on in a while...thought I'd post a little update.

What was supposed to be a 1 week stay at the hospital turned into 6 weeks...the last week being spent in the intensive unit. However, it was a very productive stay.

I figured out my biggest issue, which is that I've made suicide an option for me since I was about 7 years old. I have horrible coping skills, and whenever I have a bad day, suicide comes to mind. I'm currently working on NOT letting suicide be an option. I'm going to be attending group therapy at least twice a week, and in September I'll be going into a long-term group called "Changing Behaviours".

I'm not going to finish high school this year, so I'll probably have to finish at an adult learning centre next year. However, getting better is my #1 priority, and school comes afterwards.

Hope everyone is doing well, I've missed you all.
Thanks for this!

Hey Melissa,

Awww it's great to hear from you again....

Your right your 1st priority and everything else is 2nd. You need to get yourself better before you can do anything else. I hope you stay safe and develop better coping mechanisims.

I hope your group therapies work for you and that you get better soon

xx

I am glad you are working on your coping skill and thought patterns. Seems like a good start to better life.

Welcome Back. I'm glad you are able to see your health as a priority. I hope the groups help.

hi just wanted to say I have been there, battled suicidal thoughts since the age of sixteen had several counselors and psychiatrists along with five hospitalizations, 3 in a one year time frame. I am currently living in my own place in Colorado Springs and am focusing on breathing and TRULY Taking life one day at a time, one minute at a time sometimes and things are much less overwhelming. RECOVERY IS My FULL TIME JOB, I am taking the best care of myself that I ever have. It is amazing to feel WORTHY OF that finally, I wish u nothing but the best.
