I am newly diagnosed and 40 years old. I take Black Cohosh for the night sweats and hot flashes and it does help me sleep sometimes. I am wired right now- I just wonder if any others suffer the same?

not me, not yet, but i will one day i imagine.
I hope you get some replys here from women who are.
It must be hard.
Menopause is one of those silent things in our society, women dont talk about how it affects them very often and i dont think thats right.
It affects some people in huge ways, and it really could do with being something that is discussed,
Anything thats kept hidden like this only makes people going through it suffer feelings of isolation .
Meanwhile big to you.

I have been in menopause for a few years. It does get easier over time. I have night sweats more than hot flashes but neither are a constant occurance. I sleep with the window open a bit even in the Winter, or you can keep a fan or a/c in your bedroom. I also find that taking a cool shower before bed helps me. As for the hot flashes, I try to dress in layers when possible, step outside for fresh air, and if all else fails, I stick my head in the freezer for a few seconds! lol

I needed a med change during the process of menopause. If you keep an eye on your mood swings you'll be ok. All of the above are good suggestions for the physical symptoms.
