P-doc asked me if I would consider going on disability because its getting to the points where the medications I'm taking are considered not safe for the work I do. Although using them, work or not I function well unless I miss doses or have an actual swing that ends me out of commission for a day or two. Most Days (more than not) with my medications I function like a regular everyday person, I work, be a mom, a wife (with a great sex life) and actually went back to school and to get my bach degree, made the first semesters in the high 80's, working and taking two classes.. I finally feel real again. And yet the medications I take are "no driving, drinking...etc" But yet I function normally. And now P-doc is saying my doses are to the point they are dangerously high. Most my medications (example Klonpin 3mg 3x a day) I know if my employer knew I was taking them I probably could loose my job, but yet I function well, do a great job at work. Why would I want to consider giving up everything when it seems I have it all?

LOL.....I don't mean to laugh...but...have you asked her if she thought it would be safer to go to work without them? These are the things I don't get either. Like....please...let something go right. If it works don't worry about it I say. But, I'm no doctor, so what do I know. What do you do for a living?

Maybe you do need to try other meds? Often a lower dose of something else can work even better.
I understand your concern over disability- I could also never imagine giving up a corporate or at least a normal job.
But some days are such a drag

I did have to give up my career aspirations after two different collage degrees for disability. It was a really hard choice to make but it had to be made in my case. I still have regrets and all the "I wishes". It's not an easy road either way.

I agree trying out different meds first maybe, you never know.

I'm looking for a job now... I am so scared I won't be able to do it....
