pathetic?

I feel like a child. I'm 26 years old and I become depressed and moody when my boyfriend goes to work. I don't have a job so I am alone 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I recently looked into some volunteer work but orientation is not until August and I have this fear of leaving my dogs in the yard because someone might take them (it happened to someone I knew who lived in the same area). I just feel helpless and pathetic. Time passes so slowly when I'm by myself and my range of emotions is always changing. It makes me feel like my medicine isn't working, but is it just too much time alone? Maybe medicine isn't the issue. I guess I just wanted to vent.

You are not alone in these feelings.... I hate long days all alone. I'm looking for a job now but I do understand how you feel. Hope you can find something to fill the time.

I feel the same way when my husband leaves town, or the kids go on vacation. I have no adult company. I don't know what I'm going to do when all my kids go back to school. I'm doing my best to make friends right now and to be open to that. Which is hard for me. You can come here and talk to people and make friends.

I don't know what area you live in, but a dog being stolen out of a backyard is really rare. I know they can become like your own children. Can you put locks on your gate and secure the backyard better?

I think that happens to alot of people, it sucks being alone all day. The best thing you can do is get out, socialize etc. Have you considered taking your dogs out? I mean maybe there is a dog park near you? It would be a good place for your dogs to get some excersize and socialize, but also a good place for you to do the same. Since you will be taking them with you it provides assurance that they wouldnt be able to be taken and it's alot easier to start a conversation with a stranger if you have the dogs or they have dogs which i assume they would if they are at a dog park.

I know what you mean about it being hard to make friends! I miss the good old days of just making friends on the playground, it seems like it was so easy. We did get locks for the gate which makes me feel better. It still just weirds me out, espcially at night time.

There are a couple of dog parks near here, however our new puppy is pretty naughty and doesn't like to listen. Even with our two year old dog she plays WAY to rough. She's in puppy school so I'm hoping she will listen better and be more gentle. Not a bad idea though for when she's not so crazy. Thank you!
