I saw mine today and she said that I need to find ways to nurture myself in this time of upheaval.
How about yours?

I wasn't thrilled. Yes I understand science, but now I came down and well, what goes down must not always come up.

Getting back to the original thread...I haven't seen my pdoc in a while, but this week my T said that I was doing well in spite of my stressors right now.

The pdoc who first diagnosed me at my university's clinic told me that I shouldn't be upset about the dx, because Catherine Zeta Jones has bipolar.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The pdoc I saw for a second opinion wasn't nearly as entertaining. He did express his belief that insurance companies are the root of all evil. He also told me that my "lows are really low." I thought that was very eloquent. ![]() |

Mine told me I don't need any medication changes because the way I feel is situational, not related to my illness.
Then she added a new medication ![]() |

when my pdoc asked how i planned on killing myself and i told him i would slit my wrist, he actually waved his hand through the air, brushing it off by saying that wasnt very lethal.

Told me to remember that I have been through a low before and to look at how far I have come since 2008. Also gave me deplin.

That is one of the worst things I have heard. I almost can't believe it, tho sadly I can. There should be some sort of screening for these "doctor's". Did he have tips on more lethal ways, seriously just Uggggh!!!

Mine told me to excercise more....right after I told him I had no energy to get out of bed most days. I wanted to scream at him.

My pdoc told me that socializing with others every day whether though work, or other activities, was as taking my medications, exercising and getting a proper diet.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction! ---"Address before the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society". Abraham Lincoln Online. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. September 30, 1859. |

A therapist I had many years ago poo-pooed me when I said I was going to inject air into my veins to suicide. He said I couldn't get a syringe without a prescription. ... I told a pharmacist that I needed to buy a syringe to inject glue into the joint of a chair. He said he couldn't sell me one but could give me one. I tried to inject air and failed but found cutting. Not a good experience.

My pdoc said "See ya in two months." I've been going once a month for a VERY long time, so this is a very positive thing.

Mine is seeing my 17 yr old and told me he needs benzos for social anxiety. I refused, and if my son comes home with an Rx for benzos, I'm getting another doctor.
