Once, voluntarily.. I kinda liked it. Getting there was terrifying. The first day was scary because there were people crazier than me there. Now I think of it as a safe place, a place I don't really want to be because of what it represents (me not doing well) but an ok place. I actually have an emergency bag and list of desired items should I have to go again.. last time I went with nothing but the clothes on my back.

three times, twice in 2004 and once in summer 2010. I felt i needed to go a couple weeks ago, but realized it doesn't really help more than just going to the doctor. I didnt want to have them make me get out of bed and participate in groups and eat crappy food and all that.

Three times between 1992 and 1995; sixteen times since 2000. The admissions lasted between 2 days and 30 days. My most recent one was 18 days in June/July. I have only had one negative admission back in the 90's. I feel lucky that I have been in good hospitals. The best experience I had was in St. Mary's of Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Once for 10 days in 2007. I've been to outpatient therapy at the psych ward twice, 4 weeks the first time, and 7 weeks this year.

I have been hospitalized at least 20 times since 2001. Last year I had been hospitalized nearly every month including holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year I have been hospitalized probably twice with once being almost a month over fourth of July. It has almost been 3 months since my last hospitalization this year so hopefully this continues, staying out of the hospital I mean.
