Anyone on Lamictal? How are you doing? I am also on Lexapro 10mg daily. I would love feedback as to how soon you felt a difference, and any side effects.

I'm on 50mg right now, I go up to 75 on Weds. I felt an improvement within a few days of starting at the 25 and I felt a small improvement when I went up to 50. I'm hoping that 100 will be my magic #. So far no side effects aside from a slight dry throat when I upped the dosage. I'm taking it for bipolar II, so mainly for the depression. I don't seem to go hypo that often so far but I'm newly diagnosed so we're still trying to figure out my patterns and such.

Hello,
I'm currently taking 75mg twice a day, for my depression symptoms mainly. I have found it, combined with Zoloft, to be very helpful with my symptoms. I haven't been in the psych hospital for over 4 months now, which is a HUGE deal for me. Finally, a med combo that is working! I hope Lamictal works well for you too. ![]() |

200mg is the regular dose, so hang in there while your body adjusts to the lamictal, have been on this for years and love it. if 200mg is not enough then your pdoc can safely increase it to level that is best for you.
Good luck while you wait for it to be titrated up. lamictal is great for depression not good at controlling mania, so I take geodon also. I am bp1. bizi |

If you're not feeling much of a change be patient cause everyone is different . Keep in contact with your t or pdoc if you have concerns. 200mg is working well for me now but have been up as high as 400mg. Depends on what's going on inside my head & how stressed I am. Hope this helped. ![]() |

I just started my Lamictal but last night I felt more anxious and almost like I was going to have a panic attack. I had racing thoughts as well. Shouldn't I be getting better?? I haven't had that in awhile not on this medicine. Can it make my symptoms worse? I also can take Klonopin PRN but my psychiatrist told me to take that as a last resort. Any advice?

Although people can respond differently to medications, Lamictal is unlikely to cause you to become anxious or panic attack. I would look elsewhere for the reason, or perhaps no reason, for it. Don't stop taking it without talking to your doctor, and consider your PRN.

How long have you been taking the lexapro?
I have taken klonopin dailly for years as part of my "cocktail" of meds & have never felt the need to abuse it, but that's just me. As we all say, everyone is different & keep in close contact with your T & pdoc. with any of your concerns. Be patient & give it a chance if you can. ![]() Hope I haven't confused you. Do what's best for you! ![]() |

improvement from this depression I've been in since March! (I am dx'd BP1, but now it appears P-doc and T-doc are tossing around BP2). Well, I finally think it's beginning to happen. I didn't have any "not getting out of bed" days this past week. I went out to dinner with my husband. I even LAUGHED out loud at a silly Disney kids movie I bought for my granddaughter! I am even considering joining a community group that plays Canasta once a week. This is definitely an improvement and I don't feel "drugged" either. |

Make your pdoc aware of the way you are feeling now. It's his call on the meds based of what you tell him, whether by phone or going in to see him/her. I truly hope you find the right med combo cause your life really can be better. Keep us posted on how you're feeling! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
