I had the chance to go out today but last night I had a dream about someone taking my dog. My boyfriend hasn't put a lock on the gate (he will tonight) so I'm too worried to leave him alone in the yard. I know that probably sounds crazy but the dream felt SO real to me. The person in the dream I actually know and they are a bad person who doesn't like us so I feel like it would actually be possible and my area has had problems with pets being stolen. Part of me thinks I made the right choice and part of me is really bummed out I'm going to be all alone in the house again today. I guess I can try to be positive and look at it as I can get cleaning done but the motivation to do that comes and goes haha. I guess I just wanted to vent and hear someone tell me it's not crazy or they've done this too. It's good to know I'm not alone in what my boyfriend would call "over reacting"

Joannasouras, it is not crazy, it is concerned and it sounds like for good reason. I probably would have made the same descion, and then my boyfriend would probably tell me I am "over reacting" haha but there you have it.

Is it possible for you to purchase a crate and keep the dog inside the house in the crate? You can even bring your pup with you to burchase the crate (well.. you can here at our pet stores.. idk about in wyoming)

We have a crate but I was going to be gone for hours (driving a long way to a doctor's appointment) and I would have felt guilty. That is a good thought if I need to make a smaller trip to the store or something. Thanks so much!

I recently had a dream that someone stole my horse, truck and horse trailer. I woke up panicked! I have a hard time believing that I am worthy of good things.
