Personally I'd go with L-arginine in the morning and L-theanine at night. L-arginine is good for the circulatory system - it is a vasodilator - and in large doses such as 2-3 grams at once it triggers production of growth hormone. L-theanine is from green tea. It is good for reducing stress and it increases production of alpha brain waves, which are associated with relaxation - so it could help you to sleep better at night. I know, with depression there can be a tendency to get too much sleep - but it often isn't the kind of quality restful sleep you need. Amino acids work best on an empty stomach with water, and it is best to avoid foods that are high in proteins. Milk would also be high in proteins. Amino acids are fairly expensive and you get a variety of them in foods containing protein, so you want to give your supplements the best possible chance to be absorbed first. Also, if you are going to take amino acids for more than 30 days it is good to get a general amino acid supplement. That is something I might do just because I am not sure how well I am doing with getting all my essential amino acids. It is more of a challenge as a vegetarian.
Isn't tyrosine supposed to act as something of a stimulant?
