This is a combo update from 2 earlier threads. If you recall, a week ago I rose upwards to feeling "only" mildly depressed. Which was a very nice change of pace. That lasted 4 days, then has been on a downward-only slide since Tuesday. Boo. Hasn't bottomed out to where it was, but the negative ruminations are back and not getting anything done. Pressing things I really need to do. In the post that was earlier than that, I'd expressed exasperation over how very low and how very long really bad had been going on, and thinking about asking about an AD (not SSRI) add-on to mood stabilizer. Had psych appt. today, brought it up and she agreed we should experiment with that.

Soooo, got rx filled and will start tomorrow. Because I need to stop this in its tracks. Can't go back to the abyss yet again. And need to be able to function well enough to be able to do anything about anything. Fingers crossed. Really hoping this does the trick.

I'm glad your pdoc was able to recognize how low you were, and that you have a plan to hopefully remedy it.

I'm really impressed you've had the foresight to anticipate and look for potential solutions to the 'slide' - that's more than I manage! I hope the ADs work for you, sending positive thoughts your way xx

Heheh. I don't know if it's impressive...or foresight so much. It's just that I'd become so desperate before that I already had an idea (ummmm, a constructive one, that is...)
I really do hope they work. They will likely be a bit activating, so I'm going to be taking them in the morning with the other. But how tempting it was to take them right after I picked them up, lol! Will wait though. <twiddles thumbs...>

I'm pretty impatient when it comes to meds, including over-the-counter stuff. I just expect everything to work like RIGHT NOW! Even when I was younger I'd take a nurofen or something for cramps and then take another 5 mins later because the pain hadn't immediately subsided! That's why I'm very wary of meds as I'm not always responsible about them. I admire your patience!

I know about those slides and feeling pressured from things building up that need to be done. Hope you feel better and your new meds work out.

Yeah, like others, I'm impressed that you have yourself so well figured out! I hope to get there someday, but I have a feeling it's going to take awhile.
