Hi everyone! I am feeling this ugly anger, hard to explain, feels like a monster (mean) one is under my skin. I wouldn't hurt a soul, but, I keep having these mean thoughts. Has anyone else had this?? Am I completely losing it?? They are not homicidal thoughts, just mean and ugly ,not usual for me. I don't like it, thinking its new med, Latuda? Thinking of stopping taking it.
Thanks

Ive never been on Latuda, but if this is something new to you I'd question the med too. Don't just stop taking it tho. Do the routine call in and ask you pdoc. Shouldn't be too hard coming off since it's new to you, but your pdoc would probably like to replace it with something else. That's got to be an uncomfortable feeling. ((( kj44 )))

Thanks, I called, left a message, guess I will try n stick it out. Seems like the Ativan kind of mellows the monster! I really, really don't like the feeling. I forgot I used to get super angry, usually meant something was going to change, manic something. Ugh, I was doing so well on Zyprexa, even though its a fat pill

Aww Kelli, I hope it's not a sign of a mood change. Hang in there... Latuda is new right? There are quite a few older more tested antipsychotics out there if this one isn't working out. I took Thorazine for quite a while when seroquel and risperdal weren't working. It worked ok for me. Zyprexa indeed worked the best but again the weight gain was pushing my anorexia to dangerous levels.
Thanks for this!

Anika,
How do you choose? Latuda has got to go! Zyprexa, I want, but, I'm already overweight. So, you think Thorazine is good? Is it ok for weight? It's so sad that a person could actually have to choose between fat and sane, or, miserable, and does it matter!!LOL, life is good.
Kelli

PS: Our B-days are 1 day apart.

Well then Happy Birthday dear Kelli dear Kelli, Happy Birthday to *YU*!!

Well when I was in the hospital last year for mania and psychosis I went through quite a number of meds until they found what worked. Then this year I had quite a severe manic episode the lasted from may till sept, I should have went to the hospital. We ended up switching antipsychotics 5 times, one would work for a while and then stop. My luck of the draw. I'm not sure how weight gain is for others on Thorazine, I didn't have any. Thorazine is an older Antipsychoctic and isn't used as much any more.

I can't remember if you had said weather you had tried abilify? I switched from zyprexa to abilify, but on abilify had persistent " breakthrough" psychosis. However other people swear by it. There is another form of zyprexa Called zydis, apparently supposed to have much less weight gain.

Thank-you sooooo much! Seeing Dr. Wed.. can't wait, I keep going backwards, I guess I'm going through the figure out med stage now. I've only been out of the hospital about 5 weeks, I think. I want to go back, felt safe there. Hope they can fix my meds, thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it!! AND
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!!

I started taking Latuda a little over a month ago and I have mean, ugly thoughts but they are nothing new to me so I don't think the medication has anything to do with it (for me). I know that's not really helpful but I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone with the bad thoughts. Hang in there!

I was only on Latuda for maybe a week ... was stated during my last trip to the hospital .. Due to the cost there was no way to stay on it .. I did feel some anger while i was on it .. kind of came out of nowhere. Some I feel was the med and some just my situation.

I think alot of BiPolar people have issues with anger for all kinds of reasons .

And ... Happy Birthday
