Just a little education here.....from an english rider who's focus is on dressage........"eventing" is all english riding. It consists of 3 different "events" which is why it's called eventing. The three events consist of "cross country" (jumping over hurdles out in the field verses in an arena), "dressage" only have to know dressage up to level 2....none of the real fancy passage or piaff stuff....but challenging none the less, & "jumping" in the arena.

That's really great that you enjoy riding & have a new girl who is into eventing.....it's a great sport. I stick with dressage because I do best when my horse has all 4 feet on the ground. Jumping leaves my heart in my throat which doesn't feel real good to me. Have done it not always planned though sometimes horses do what they want to do when they want to do it like when crossing a stream & not wanting to get their feet wet.

Ah, the joys of riding.

The 2 step is fairly simple. I learned it in Jackson Hole Wyo (talk about redneck area....lol) Always ski vacationed there in the middle of January at -40F. Evenings were my chance to get away from my husband who didn't dance & enjoy dancing with the ski instructor we knew who taught western swing & all the other fun dances. I'm guessing you a natural if you are trying to learn it off you-tube.....have fun
